BaouleCore Archive Center is an independent cultural space and living archive based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, at the crossroads of memory, creation, and transmission. Rooted in the pulse of West African artistic energy, BaouleCore brings together music, design, fashion, and visual culture through a sharp, community-centered lens
Located inside Abidjan’s first women-led cooperative market, the center functions as a research-driven lab. It offers a home for artists, producers, curators, and curious minds to explore, connect, and experiment.
The archive holds more than 1,500 vinyl records, 1,000 cassettes, a wide range of rare books, zines, design publications, and artefacts reflecting African and diasporic narratives. The collection is in constant motion, shaped by ongoing contributions and discoveries.
Beyond its listening sessions, DJ sets, and photography projects, BaouleCore provides tailored research and consulting services. Curators, institutions, labels, and creatives can collaborate with the team to access specific materials, develop contextual content, or imagine new cultural formats rooted in African heritage.
Whether you’re looking to dig into rare sounds, uncover forgotten histories, or collaborate on future-facing projects, BaouleCore is the place to begin.
